Sands Resorts Macao will be the ultimate venue to host Sands Macao Fashion Week from October 17 to 23 for the third year in a row. Patrons of the integrated resort can anticipate a week full of innovative fashion shows, jaw-dropping exhibitions and fantastic promotions. The event will showcase the upcoming autumn/winter collections from the many retail outlets at Sands Shoppes Macao, all free and open to the public.
As in previous years, a dazzling invitation-only gala event will kick off the momentous evening which has historically attracted VIP guests, media and key industry influencers. Former guests of the star-studded event included megastars such as Hu Ge, Liee, Hao (Hao Yun Xiang), Lina Zhang and Zhang Hui Jun. In the audience were the likes of renowned Chinese actor Zheng Kai, actress Karlina Zhang and actors and singers Jiro Wang and Qi Wei. last year, Emporio Armani presented a brilliant show featuring looks from the label’s ready-to-wear collections, and all in attendance were able to buy what they could see in Shoppes at Sands.
Sands Macao Fashion Week 2018 was opened by the talented Macao designer Nuno Lopes who debuted his 2019 collection. The first Macao designer to be featured in Vogue magazine, and participate in London Fashion Week, Lopes showed 40 of his readyto-wear and haute couture looks. The amazingly transformed “Walk on Water runway”, a purpose-built catwalk on The Venetian Macao’s canals, is now a signature venue of SMFW multiple group fashion shows, alongside Boutique Shows at Shoppes at Parisian. Lopes launched his intimate yet bold new line for men, closely followed by flowing gowns for women that matched it in glamour.
Fashion-conscious guests can look forward to a spectacular line-up of notable labels. In previous years, high-end brands gracing the catwalk included Calvin Klein, Evisu, D’Urban, Gieves & Hawkes, MLB, Hardy Hardy, Landi and Jorya, all showcased by elegant models, gracefully parading the impressive venue.
As one of the quintessential events on the international fashion calendar in the region, SMFW19 will again showcase sleek and chic group runway shows. A fabulous mix of luxury and lifestyle brands will come together from 850 stores across Shoppes at Venetian, Shoppes at Four Seasons, Shoppes at Cotai Central and Shoppes at Parisian.
As with the two previous events, talented and exceptional local designers will receive presentations from the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM). The organisation will again be invited to participate in SMFW19 as part of Sands China’s ongoing mission to support Macao’s cultural and creative industries. Past participants representing Macao included David Siu, Azalea Ho, Vincent Cheang and Akina Lei, who is now Head Fashion Stylist (Manager) of Parisian Privé Styling Suite service, available at The Parisian Macao.
Sands Macao Fashion Week will also feature offers and exclusive promotions on a wide range of products including cosmetics and skincare, fashion, jewellery and watches, lifestyle and much more. In 2018, exciting pop-ups included Your BAZAAR Statement Tee vending machine, a Cosmopolitan Fashion-style Reverse House photo booth, a Versace Chain Reaction pop-up, a Versus Versace promotion campaign and Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels collection pop-up.
