Taiwanese television drama My MVP Valentine star Angela Zhang rocks the stage at the Venetian Macao’s Cotai Arena
Those who love powerful vocals were in for a treat as they took their seats in the Cotai Arena for Angela Zhang’s concert. The night promised to be a feast for the ears and eyes – the concert production team for the “Journey” world tour includes creative director David Shapiro and dance consultant David Marquez, who were part of Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in the United States.
Each song was almost like performance art, interpreted through a combination of dance, video and laser displays. Zhang’s ensembles were designed by Jiayi Zhang, and her gorgeous pink and red number added grace to the singer’s movements. All these elements came together for the wonderful East meets West concept, along with the multifaceted talent Zhang brought to the stage.
The concert kicked off with hits from Zhang’s debut album “Over the Rainbow”, starting with Shout and jumping to her more recent hit, When You Live For Love. She then serenaded the audience with the poetic Flower in Wonderland and Pandora.
The highlight of the evening, to the excitement of the audience, was when Zhang performed My Lost Happiness. Wearing a gorgeous houndstooth dress and hat adorned with pearls, Zhang sang sweetly yet clearly, her voice conveying the anguish of the song.
But the diva saved the best for last in the encore, with her famous cover of Ah Diao, and ended the night with a powerful interpretation of Titanium. Fans in the Arena were left breathless and hungry for more of Zhang’s powerhouse performances.
