Grasshopper goes the distance
Brothers Calvin and Remus Choy and childhood friend Edmond So have been captivating fans for decades with their vocal talent, choreography and style. The boy band announced their arrival at the 1985 Hong Kong New Talent Singing Awards.
While they didn’t win, they captured the attention of one of the judges, late Canto-pop diva Anita Mui, who recruited them as backup singers and dancers, setting them on the path to stardom As expected, the audience for the Music Walker Grasshopper in Concert – Macao on May 20 was left clamouring for more as band members backed up their timeless hits with agile dance moves. Many decades after getting together, Grasshopper have retained their youthful energy, while maturing into polished performers.
The guys have also cemented their status as style icons.Throughout the show, Calvin, Remus and Edmond slipped in and out of a series of glitzy costumes that showed off their bold fashion sense and still-impressive physiques. The show was a feast for the eyes and the ears, and we’ll be there the next time the boys are back in town!
