Fight against cancer: Conrad Macao goes pink to support research this October
Conrad Macao, Cotai Central is launching its ‘PINK Inspired 2017’ campaign with a series of PINK experiences and collectables throughout October, in support of Hong Kong Cancer Fund’s Pink Revolution, an annual campaign to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. This will be the fifth year of the campaign.
The hotel pledged to donate a portion of its proceeds to the fund as a Ruby sponsor, including sales of the hotel’s bear and rubber duck – both in limited edition pink.
Throughout October, the campaign will turn the hotel, along with all its floral arrangements and decorations, into a passionate pink. The hotel will also hold ‘Pink Fridays’, for which staff and management will add a dapper dash of pink to their uniforms, and emails and handwritten guest cards.
“Breast cancer is the most prevalent form of cancer among women, regardless of age, in both developed and developing countries,” says Bede Barry, general manager of Conrad Macao, Cotai Central. “With this in mind, we are humbled and honoured to once again lend Conrad Macao’s support as a Ruby sponsor this year to this remarkably meaningful campaign.”
For the past four years, Conrad Macao has enlisted the support of a number of international and local celebrities to help drive the cause, including renowned dog trainer Cesar Millan, Korean actor Jung Suk-won and Korean actress Carla Lee. Other stars taking part this year will be revealed throughout the campaign.
Guests wanting to contribute can make a 10-pataca donation on check-out, for which they can receive a PINK Inspired Afternoon Tea experience or a PINK spa treatment. The hotel’s award-winning restaurant Dynasty 8 is offering a special pink menu. A portion of proceeds from PINK Inspired 2017 experiences and merchandise will go to the Hong Kong Cancer Fund and local charity Associação de Feliz Paraíso.
Guests have the option of adding 10 patacas to their room bill which will be donated in whole to the fund. For this they will receive a PINK ribbon to add to the hotel’s topiary tree. Limited edition Conrad Pink bears and Pink ducks are available at Conrad Macao’s gift shop, with proceeds going to the Hong Kong Cancer Fund.
Conrad also announced a partnership with watchmaker Longines, which donated two signature timepieces for the Pink Inspired 2017 Campaign. The names of guests who enjoy a PINK Inspired experience or purchase a collectable will go into a raffle draw to win a La Grande Classique de Longines watch. On display at Conrad Macao Lobby during October, the watch has a very slim stainless steel case of just over 4mm housed in a quartz movement, finely worked mother-of-pearl dials and a star background in pink.
