Spring greetings from Sands
I am delighted to present the new-look Sands Style magazine, showcasing the many fantastic choices available for leisure, shopping and dining across Sands Resorts Macao. In our first issue of the new year, and indeed the Year of the Rooster, we are bringing you the most exciting up-and-coming attractions heading to Sands for the spring season, and looking back at some of the biggest events we’ve hosted.
This spring, our longstanding connection with the ice-sculpting experts of Harbin will be renewed with a fresh theme, in which our favourite DreamWorks character, Po the Kung Fu Panda, is making a star appearance. In January, we welcomed Irish dance sensation Riverdance to The Venetian Theatre; this was followed by a treat for Cantonese music fans with a concert by The Wynners, perennial icons of the region’s music scene.
The same month, I had the pleasure once again of meeting Sophie Marceau, who returned to The Parisian Macao to help us host a romantic gathering of local couples on our Lovelock Bridge.
Looking ahead, the tale of Journey to the West is one of the best-loved stories in Chinese culture – and now it’s coming to Macao. We invite you to see our new live spectacular, Monkey King, which retells this legend through music, dance and breathtaking acrobatics, at Sands Cotai Theatre.
To complement our family entertainment at Sands Cotai Central, step into Planet J’s universe, a 100,000-square-metre themed attraction featuring live interactive quests and adventures for our younger customers. Planet J is a must-see venture and, best of all, players can come back again and again, and continue where they left off to conquer the next level.
We are also very excited to announce the launch of a new credit card loyalty programme, Sands Lifestyle, in partnership with ICBC and Mastercard, which allows cardholders to earn points when shopping or travelling anywhere in the world, and then redeem them in Macao within Sands Resorts Macao’s integrated resorts. Shoppers also have the opportunity to earn up to five times more points when they shop at Sands Resorts Macao.
With the benefits of combining a rewards programme with the functionality of a payment card, Sands Lifestyle is the first scheme of its kind in Greater China, and supports Macao’s positioning in transforming itself into an integrated travel and leisure destination that appeals to families and non-gaming visitors.
Finally, I would like to wish you a very happy and prosperous Year of the Rooster.
